Gold and platinum

Gold belongs to your whole empire, not to one city. It is shown on every city page, nothing can raid it, and there is no limit on how much you keep.

• Each idle citizen earns 3 gold an hour. See Resources.
• Winning at the Overgrown Galleries.
• Selling cards and resources at an Auction House.

• Transport ships at your Port. The first costs 500, and each one after costs more.
• A card pack at the Art Studio: 250 gold, plus mana.
• A new city: an expedition costs 1,000 gold, plus wood.
• Changing your empire's art style: 2,500 gold for each city.
• Cards and resources other players sell at an Auction House.

Platinum is the game's premium currency. Your balance is in the menu bar, to the left of your General. Press it for the Platinum page: what you have running, what you own, and what is for sale.

• Beating an Overgrown Gallery level for the first time pays 5 times the level: 5 for level 1, 20 for level 4.
• Winning the highest level again pays 1, up to 10 in any 24 hours.
• Your first card accepted from your own art pays 100, and each one after pays 25, up to 250 in any 30 days.
• The weekly challenge pays platinum for every level you win, 60 for the whole ladder.
• A friend who signs up with your invite link and founds a second city within 7 days pays you both 250.
• Now and then the game gives every player some, usually to make up for time it was down.
• It unlocks an extra building plot in a city, from 100 platinum.
• The planner pass adds a slot to every city's City Planner: 200 platinum for 30 days.
• A supply line beyond your free coffee line costs 250 platinum for 30 days.
• A bribe raises an Appraiser's chance on an inspect mission: 5 platinum for each 5%.
• It never buys cards, packs or an edge in battle.

You can subscribe to Art Empires on DeviantArt. Each tier pays platinum with your first payment and again every month it renews.

• Empire Supporter, $3 a month: 300 platinum.
• Muse & Empire, $5 a month: 300 platinum, plus subscriber-only art and a monthly image idea.
• Empire Patron, $10 a month: 1,000 platinum.

Connect your DeviantArt account to receive it. If you subscribe first and connect later, everything you have already paid for arrives the moment you connect.

Nothing you buy is a card, a pack or an advantage in a fight.
