Auction House

Put a card or a lot of resources up for sale at a price you name. It is the only place to get an older edition of a card, since nobody can print those any more.

Each Auction House shows and buys only what is for sale in cities no further away in hexes than its level plus 1. A taller house reaches further.

Price resources in gold each or for the whole lot. Fill in either one and the form works out the other.

Each level of every Auction House you own lets you keep 3 more listings open, and you can use them from any city with an Auction House.

Trade research adds to both: Market Stalls and Merchant Guilds add a listing for each level, and Trade Routes lets each house reach 2 hexes further.

The city you sell from needs a Port, because what sells here sails. What you list leaves your city straight away and comes back if you take the listing down.

When you buy, your ships sail to the seller with the price aboard, and you name the city the goods go home to. The gold leaves your purse when they sail.

The sale is made when your ships arrive. Whoever arrives first buys it. If the price went up past the gold aboard, or someone else got there first, your ships sail home with the gold. If the price went down, you pay the new price and the change comes home with the goods.

You can change the price of your own listings with Change price. If buyers' ships are already on the way, you are told how much gold each carries before you save.

You cannot buy a card with a full collection, and ships that arrive after your collection filled sail home with the gold. Resources you can always buy: they go in a Storehouse and not in your collection.

A card can be listed for offers instead of at a price. Those listings don't count toward your listings, up to 500 of them.

To make an offer, type an amount under the card. The gold leaves your purse straight away and comes back if the offer is turned down, withdrawn, or not answered within 48 hours. You can raise it while it waits.

Selling has two tabs, Sell cards and Sell resources. Each shows your listings of that kind above the form that lists more.

To list many cards at once, tick them in Sell cards and use the bar above the grid. List spare copies ticks one spare copy of every card first, then a second of each, up to the number in Per card. A copy in a deck or on a wall counts as the one you keep.

Each card in Sell cards says how many copies of it you have listed already. Tick Skip cards already listed to leave those out of List spare copies.

Cancel all takes back every listing in the tab you are on, once you have two or more. Resources go back to their cities and cards to your collection.

To find your surplus in Sell cards, set Owned to a number of copies, or sort by Copies to put your biggest piles first. Copies count per edition and condition, as the grid shows them.

Offers on your cards wait in the Offers box on every Auction House. Accepting one sells the card on one of your own transports, and the other offers on it are turned down.

Each card for sale shows what it last sold for, and its range over the last 30 days.

An exclusive is never sold here for gold. It changes hands on DeviantArt.

Auction House costs 500 wood and takes 16 minutes 40 seconds to build.

You need a Curator's Office at level 1, and a Town Hall at level 5.

Every level after that costs about 35% more and takes about 40% longer than the one before, and stone is part of the price from level 5.
