Supply lines

Playable now

Coffee sent to your other cities automatically, from a Shipping Office.

You can do this now.

What a supply line does

A supply line sends spare coffee from one city to your other cities every few hours, using your own transports. It runs from a Shipping Office, and each office runs one line.

  • It sends only what is above the amount you keep at home.
  • It fills each city towards a target, measured in hours of what that city's Coffee Shop is set to pour. A city with no rate set needs nothing.
  • It counts coffee already at sea, so it never sends the same shortfall twice.
  • It never sends more than a city's Storehouse can hold, so nothing it sends is lost.
  • A city that would get less than 100 is skipped that run.

How often
Every 1, 2, 4, 8, 12 or 24 hours.
Most ships per run
So a line never takes your whole fleet.

On the Shipping Office page you can also leave a number of ships idle for everything else. Lines never use those.

What limits it

  • The office's level: 2,000 a day at level 1, and 1,000 more for each level after. A shipment you recall still counts.
  • Idle ships. When none are free, the line waits and runs as soon as one lands.
  • A run that finds nothing to send, or nobody short, waits a full interval.
  • If the server was down when a run was due, it runs once when it is back, not once for every run it missed.

A supply shipment is an ordinary shipment. It shows on the Port's At sea list, and you can recall it like any other.

Your new Coffee Shops

When a Coffee Shop's first level finishes and you have never set its rate, it starts at half of what it can pour. Over an empty store it pours nothing, so a supply line can see that the city wants coffee. Change it whenever you like, including to nothing.
