Your account and game activity

• We store your email address, password hash if you set a password, sign-in methods and sessions to operate and protect your account. Security records include request addresses, browser information and authentication activity.
• Your chosen player name and public game activity are visible to other players. Game events retain the history needed to run and reconstruct the world.
• Google sign-in gives us your Google account identifier and email. We do not use your Google name or picture as your public player identity. Linking requires proof of your existing game account.
• Connecting DeviantArt stores its account identifier, username and avatar for artwork attribution. Gallery access and submissions have their own controls in Help.
• Emails we send contain a small invisible picture. When your mail app loads it, we record that the email was opened and when. Links and buttons in our emails, unsubscribe links included, pass through our site first, so we also record which ones you follow. Turning off pictures in your mail app stops the first. You choose which emails you get in Settings.
• Session cookies keep you signed in. A local preference remembers your theme.
• A device cookie holds a random identifier that stays when you sign out. We record which accounts each device and network address signs in from, and compare them when accounts send each other resources, to enforce the one account rule.

Basic usage counts

We count page views so we can see which parts of the game are used. Each view adds one to a daily total in our own database, recorded against the screen you opened, a screen-size category, and the country your request came from.

These totals contain no visitor or account identifiers, no network addresses, no browser details, no referrers, no full URLs, no search terms and no individual visit records. We do not record who visited which page, and a total cannot be traced back to a person. Staff screens are not counted.

The country is a two-letter code supplied by our network provider. We do not record your city or your location, and we do not store your network address for measurement.

Daily totals are kept permanently, so we can see how the game is used over time. Because they contain no personal information, there is no way to opt out of them, and Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control do not change what is counted. Hosting and security systems still process network information to deliver and protect the service.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand traffic to the game. It sets Google Analytics cookies in your browser and sends Google the screen category you opened, along with the information Google collects from your browser and network. It is not sent the page address, your account or player name, or anything you type. Advertising features and Google signals are turned off.

Google processes this information under the Google Privacy Policy. You can see how Google uses information from sites that use its services, or block Google Analytics with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Storage and requests

Account and security information is kept in our database and protected backups. Hosting, email delivery, Google and DeviantArt process information needed for their services. Public artwork and game records may remain in historical records.

Contact support to request access, correction or deletion. We will explain any records that must remain for game integrity or security. Disconnecting Google removes that sign-in method; it does not delete your game account.
