Port

Playable now

Where you buy transports, and where everything that crosses water leaves from.

You can do this now.

What it is

Transports are bought at the Port with gold. Each one carries 1,000, and your ships are shared across your whole empire rather than belonging to the city that sold them.

Every transport costs more than the last. The first is 500 gold, and each one after that is about 15% dearer. There is no limit but what you can pay.

Its level is how fast it loads. A level 1 Port loads 250 a minute, so a full transport takes 4 minutes, and every level after that loads 20% of a level 1 Port faster. Nothing caps it.

It goes on the berth, the plot at the water's edge, and nothing else can go there.

You need one to send resources anywhere, including to a city of yours on the same island: goods go by ship, not overland.

What you can do with it today

Build a Port on your city's berth, then open it. It shows how many transports you have, what they carry between them, how fast this Port loads and what the next one costs. Buy a transport and the price of the one after it goes up; upgrade the Port and it loads faster.

You can also send resources from here to another of your own cities. Pick the city, fill the hold, and the page tells you how many transports it takes and how long it will be. The resources leave straight away and arrive when the transport does, unless you recall it first.

You can send one of this city's decks to another of your cities. It stops defending this city straight away and can defend or raid from the other one once it arrives. A deck going to a city on the same island walks and needs no transport.

Sending to another player is not built. Neither is anything crossing water in a raid.

What it will do

Designed, not built
  • Trade and attacks across the sea both go through the Port, and its loading speed is what decides how long a shipment sits there.
  • You do not need one to do anything on your own island.
  • If somebody beats your defence they can blockade your Port, which nearly stops it working until you drive them off.

What it costs

Port costs 350 wood and takes 11 minutes 40 seconds to build.

You need a Town Hall at level 3.

Every level after that costs about 35% more and takes about 40% longer than the one before, and stone is part of the price from level 5.
