What it is

In a battle at your city, your Town Wall stands between the two boards from the first turn. Until it falls it is the only thing an attack can hit: not your deck master and not your minions, Guards included. Flying minions go past it unless it has Reach.

It has attack and defence and no health. Damage takes its defence, and at 0 it falls for the rest of the match.

It never attacks. It hits back at whatever attacks it.

It is not a minion, so no card ability can target it.

It gains 1 defence every 3 levels and 1 attack every 10 levels, up to 6 attack. From level 6 it has Reach once you have researched Ramparts, so flying minions cannot go past it either.

You can raise it to level 10 without research. Masonry, Bastions and Citadel, at a Research Institute, let it go higher.

Its page shows which of the city's decks defends it. A city with no deck of its own is defended by its wall alone, and the page links to the Port of each city you can send a deck from.

You can practise against a wall at the Arena. A wall you attack there has Reach from level 6; a wall you defend with has it once you have Ramparts.

What it costs

Town Wall costs 200 wood and takes 6 minutes 40 seconds to build.

You can build it straight away, on any island.

Every level after that costs about 35% more and takes about 40% longer than the one before, and stone is part of the price from level 5.
