Statehouse

Designed, not built

Needed in every city except your first one.

Planned, but not built yet. There is no date for it.

What it is

Every city other than your capital needs a Statehouse, as high as the number of cities you hold outside your capital. Found a fourth city and every one of them needs level 3.

It is not offered in your capital, which is run from its Capitol Building instead.

A city whose Statehouse is too low is corrupt: it supports fewer people and gathers fewer resources, by the same share. A city with none at all loses 75% of both.

Nothing stops you settling anyway. It just costs you until the Statehouse catches up.

What you can do with it today

Playable now

Open it from the city it is in. It shows the level this city has against the level your empire's width asks for, what share it is losing if it is short, and every city you hold with the people and the resources in each.

Nothing founds a second city yet, so every city in the game is a capital and none of them can have a Statehouse.

What it costs

Statehouse costs 1,200 wood and takes 40 minutes to build.

You need a Town Hall at level 2.

Every level after that costs about 80% more than the one below it, and takes on one more resource: stone at level 2, coffee at level 3, glass at level 4, mana at level 5. Every level then wants more of each. Growing your empire is meant to be slow.
