How cards are costed
Playable nowWhat a card's mana buys, and what a deck master's Signature costs to fire.
You can do this now.
Points and mana
Everything on a card is counted in points: stats, keywords and abilities. 2 points are worth 1 mana.
- A Minion, Action or Reaction gets 2 points per mana, plus 1. A 3-mana Minion has 7 points to spend.
- Equipment gets 2 more, because it is lost with the minion wearing it.
- A Location's repeating abilities are counted for 3 turns, then priced like one card.
- An ability that waits for something to happen is counted at how often that is expected to happen. Your third card in a turn is rare and cheap, and any minion dying is common and dear.
The form counts the mana cost as you fill it in. You can set your own, and a curator reads the difference.
Deck master Signatures
A deck master costs nothing as a card. Its Signature is priced like a hero power: the mana you pay each time it fires.
- A small Signature can be free: up to 1 point a turn for one that happens every turn, or 2 points for a one-off.
- Above that, it costs its points at the card rate, rounded up, plus 1 mana because it is there every match without being drawn.
- Deal 1 damage to anything costs 2. Deal 1 damage to every enemy minion costs 3.
- Gaining mana every turn counts 2 points a mana, so it is never free and costs more than it gives. Gaining mana once is fine.
The form shows the suggested cost under the Signature. A Signature cheaper than that is not refused; a curator decides.
An automatic Signature that costs mana fires whenever you can pay and takes the mana first. One with a cost usually works better as manual, so you choose the turn.
